i’m a veteran who was denied psychiatric care for schizophrenia to where i thought i was Jesus Christ,for over 4 years through the veterans administration,even basic medical is a joke,and i can’t even file a complaint in my home town or over the internet so im heading to Washington to have deal with me.thanks

I was at USC when he delivered his speech – followed by Carl Hess, former speechwriter for Barry Goldwater ….. please keep me informed and his songs are still among my favorites.

Nowdays, I see better how the pieces all fit together; though I may have grown up along the way, I’m still a fan of his.

actually the coal field democrats always like to screw over our state , and alot of the people that helped in creating unions in our state were republican, both parties have screwed our state but its been mainly the democrats , We need libertarian minded politicians in our state and also in Washington these companies violated many rights of the working individual to say republicans love that way of running things you forget about all of the libertarian minded republicans that are trying to get their party back on the right track MAny liberals in hollywood and in politics look down upon us obama doesnt care about our state at all , i like your article you seem intelligent but progressive liberals arent the solution neither are big business neo-cons

I think the fact that the CAMERA operation to instill bias was discovered and exposed does Wikipedia great credit. In my mind the lesson isn’t that Wikipedia can’t be trusted in regard to anything important but, rather, that ANY authoritative statement and source should be viewed with AT LEAST some skepticism. Any source of information could be presenting bias about this subject or another (which you might fail to notice). We all have some level of bias (about nearly everything) but the beauty of Wikipedia is that all former edits/versions still exist and can be referenced, compared, and discussed. If you want to learn and discuss a serious issue this is what ALWAYS should be done — but not every medium facilitates such involvement. And I should point out that the questionable ethics of the CAMERA group has caused an even worse light to be shined on their point of view. If their edits had made it into Time Magazine or Encyclopedia Britannica there might be very little recourse. On Wikipedia the community can expose them and balance their biased edits. Don’t get me wrong, popular bias exists EVERYWHERE (in plain sight) but most people still never notice it (and the forums to debate, discuss, and correct information is often limited or non-existant — unlike with Wikipedia).

How is it that someone that doesn’t understand what a spam filter on a blog is feels that they can pass judgment on what is ethnic cleansing. speaking of tired often trotted out talking points, i don’t think you understand the definition of ethnic cleansing. the UN definition goes as follows “…rendering an area ethnically homogeneous by using force or intimidation to remove from a given area persons of another ethnic or religious group…” and last i checked the Tibet region still has a primarily Tibetan population. What you are witnessing is a small part of the mass migration of people throughout china.

Open the debates! First one is Friday!

I’m not a bot, I know you care about the democracy of our government, so we need to get this done. There are 6 Presidential candidates this year all of which are qualified and capable of winning, so why are there only 2 people on the debate! Bigotry, two party bias! Let’s flood the email inbox and the phone lines with: Open the Debates.

It takes 5 mins. Please help me make a difference . Below is a script but please feel free to appropriately modify it to support your candidate .

Step one:

Call Barack Obama at 866-675-2008.
Hit 6 to speak with a campaign volunteer.
Once connected, politely deliver the following message:

Hi, my name is …

I was wondering if Senator Obama, being a believer in equal opportunity and equal rights, could insist that Cynthia Mckinney and other ballot qualified third party candidates be included in the upcoming Presidential debates?
After all, Cynthia Mckinney is on 34 state ballots.
And she’s polling well nationwide. And he could help Senator Obama challenge the corporate Republicans.
True, Cynthia Mckinney would critique Senator Obama for his corporate ties also. But isn’t that what democracy is about? Could you please leave this message for the campaign manager? Thank you.

Step two:

E-mail Janet Brown jb@debates.org, the executive director of the Commission on Presidential Debates.

Friday, two Wall Street candidates are scheduled to be in the ring. Barack Obama and John McCain. The one candidate who represents the American people, Main Street, if you will, will be on the outside looking in. So, here’s a simple request. Drop your exclusionary restrictions. And let Cynthia Mckinney into the debates.
It will be good for your conscience. Good for the American people. (I believe it was The League of Women Voters that called your corporatized debates “campaign-trail charades devoid of substance, spontaneity, and honest answers to tough questions.”) And good for democracy. Let the American people have a real debate for once. Main Street vs. Wall Street.
