Whoa!
Remember, Senator Lieberman was a big deal in the Democratic Party back in 2000 and 2004. In 2000, he was Al Gore’s running mate. 2004, he ran for president. Because he was losing so badly in Iowa, Lieberman told everyone to wait for New Hampshire, because he was going to get some “Joementum” going. The man has the charisma of a frozen dog turd.
In 2006, he was up for re-election to the US Senate. And a more progressive Democrat, Ned Lamont, challenged his seat in the primary. (This campaign included a commercial showing Lieberman getting kissed by George W. Bush). Lamont won. Lieberman ran as an independent and won the general election. So he’s back in the Senate with a vendetta against all the Democrats who supported Lamont.
He’s also taken up with some of John McCain’s good buddies. Like the Hitler apologist Zionist (not an “oxymoron”) pastor John Hagee, who runs one of those megachurches and has his own talk show/indoctrination hour on Trinity Broadcasting Network. Hagee believes that Israel is for the Jews. And boy does he believe it. He believes Islam is Satanic. He believes the Catholic Church is the great whore (geez, I thought that about Catholic school girls, but not the whole church!) He also believes that Hitler was sent by God to make the Jews move to Israel.
For that last one, you’d think that anyone of Jewish faith would avoid a slime bag like Hagee, but you’d be wrong. Hagee holds these large rallies in D.C. called Christians United for Israel. And all the fundamentalist scumbags of both religions show up (except for Catholics and non-Protestant Christians and Mormons, who are also Satanic…Didn’t you know this?) And as keynote speaker we have none other than Dr. Zoidberg himself–Senator Joe Lieberman!

Lieberman refuses to denounce Hagee, even though John McCain has. Lieberman claims that Hagee represents the Christan communtiy that cares about Israel. Well, if you really cared about Israel, you wouldn’t attach your lips to such fascistic people, would you? Because all that Lieberman has done is attach Israel to some bizarre Christian fundamentalist doctrine that no one would believe except in the Bible Belt. If you really cared about the suffering of the Jewish people, you wouldn’t be seen with anyone who claimed that Hitler was on a mission from God, would you?
BTW, it is generally believed that Lieberman was key for McCain getting Hagee’s endorsement. Lieberman is a fool if he thinks that John Hagee is any voice of reason. I get the same feeling when I hear John Hagee as I get when I hear Hitler speak: here’s an angry man who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Then I realize that too many people think he’s speaking the truth. And that’s why Hitler was dangerous. And that’s why John Hagee and his ilk are, too.
